9:27. ମୁଁ ମାରେ ନିଜ ଶରୀରକୁ ଆଘାତ କରୁଛି। ମୁଁ ଏହାକୁ ମାରେ କ୍ରୀତଦାସ କରୁଛି। ମୁଁ ଏହା କରୁଛି ଯେପରି ମୁଁ ସୁସମାଚାର ପ୍ରଚାର କରିବା ପରେ ନିଜେ ଯେପରି ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ଯ ନ ହୁଏ। ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉପଦେଶ ଦଲୋ ପରେ ଯେପରି ମୁଁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ଅଗ୍ରାହ୍ଯ ନ ହୁଏ, ସେଥିପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ମାେ ଶରୀରକୁ ବଶ ରେ ରଖୁଅଛି।

9:27. Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified.

9:27. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

9:27. but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

9:27. It is my own body I fight to make it do what I want. I do this so that I won't miss getting the prize myself after telling others about it.
